As the Boys volleyball team heads into the end season tournament the Roayls have accomplished many things this season. Starting off the Royals went (21-10) with some amazing wins including against cross town rival the Fishers Tigers. The royals are a strong and athletic team with tons of potential heading into the post season, looking to be the last team standing.
Coach Marchione said “When our offense minimizes mistakes and takes a dominant role on the court, we are hard to stop” said Marchione. The team has great potential to be great through the post season with many stand out players like Junior Sean Smart. Marchione believes he is one of the best leaders that he has coached and pushes the team every day to be 1 percent better. Senior Jackson Campbell is another outstanding player at the outside hitter position and is a very dominant force on the offensive end.
Senior Nick Milentis said he feels the team “is a family, respecting all players and coaches, and treating them as if it’s one close family.” Said Milentis. “Since volleyball is such a team sport, we can only control our half of the court. Being close with one another helps us play together.” Explained Milentis.
Overall, this teams talent and potential can align for a great post season run. We all are looking forward to what they can do. The royals head to a reginal championship on Saturday.
