Luke Williams is a junior at Hamilton southeastern high school. Williams played other sports like basketball and volleyball but ended up falling in love with lacrosse when he was nine years old. Williams played for Saint Simon when his dad said, “Luke how would you like to play lacrosse.” That started it all. At the beginning he wasn’t the best, he was new at all of this and kept struggling to find where he wanted to play.
Williams didn’t like hitting people and didn’t have the best eye coronation. Obviously, every player on the team wanted to play on the field and no one wanted to play goalie, until he tried it for the first time and fell in love with it, he realized this is what I want to do on this team.
Williams is a leader and steps up to do great work when everyone wants to do a different position. He went through the hard times playing goalie, but he loved his position and wouldn’t want to change it. Now he doesn’t just play goalie he also plays attack. When Williams was 12, he would play 1 half as the goalie and then 1 half on attack. Once he got to high school, he was a bit nervous. He only knew about three people from Saint Simon going to Hse until he realized the brotherhood HSE has.
It made Williams feel better and made a lot of friends. His love and respect for this team is incredible. As coach Beesley once said “we not me” meaning you can’t do it all by yourself you have to ask for help. This is Williams happy place anytime has going through a hard time or stressed out he picks up his stick and starts to play and that pain just goes away. Williams said that the, “Hse lacrosse program is special and he have an incredible coaching staff that puts so much time and effort into us that I’m so grateful for”. Williams has improved from the start until now and didn’t give up since he kept going with all of his hopes and dreams and one day to have accomplished that.
