HSE’s unified track team has deeper connections than just teammates on the track. Atheltes and peers come together to form strong conections on and off the track. Theese realtionships give peers and athletes a sense of unity and for peers, involvement knowing they have a friends and people in the School who care for them. Thats the beauty of Unified track. The athletes get to all work together to get better and comepete, and build lifelong friendships as well. HSE’s make a wish club and peer tuuroing classes all support the peers in unifed by going to events to cheer them on and supporting them outside of practice. Athletes have reported that their favorite part of unified track is getting to work with the peers and become a buddy and mentor to them. Outside of track, athletes and peers can hangout at school and events such as best buddies prom, unified sports, etc. Overall unified track is an opportunity to have fun and play a sport, but it also brings a sense of unity and involvement and ability to form strong, long lasting friendships.
