Senior Camryn McKinney has had many challenges since competing in Hamilton Southeastern High school track, McKinney’s love for running track started back in 5th grade from being a part of a team., McKinney said “[she] enjoys that track is an individual sport because the only way you improve is by the work you put in.
McKinney said that [she] has “enjoyed the time running track for HSE and feels so grateful to be surrounded by such a positive group.” Said McKinney. It’s honoring to compete against her teammates because they have made [her] time on the team very special.“ explained McKinney. Throughout the years making memories wasn’t hard. McKinney said the “overall favorite memory of the time in track would be competing against my younger sister at state last year and standing with her on the podium. Said McKinney.
McKinney has prepared hard before the track season by doing acceleration training to “get [her] times even faster.” Said McKinney. To prepare for a track meet, McKinney stays “in a positive mindset just before the race begins.” Said McKinney.
McKinney has had many inspirations since she has been running track, the biggest inspiration is her family “they always pushed [me] and [my] family to be the best that we can be.” Explained McKinney. “as a family we are each other’s biggest competition, especially with my sister also competing in track with me we always push ourselves to be our best” said McKinney. The family support McKinney receives is one of the biggest motivations, and inspirations, and will use that for McKinney’s Senior year.
