The Hamilton Southeastern boys basketball team picked up another win this past Saturday against the well-rounded Southport Cardinals. The royals trailed early after jumping to an 8-2 lead. HSE would then bounce back and win the Quarter 14-13. Up one, senior Nate Orr stayed with it, finishing the first half with 18 points. After the second Quarter the royals led 23-16.
Senior Donovan Hamilton finished the game with 26 and 7 rebounds, scoring 18 points in the second half. Orr contributed with 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assist. The Royals lost the third quarter 19-21 as the cardinals clawed back; going into the fourth quarter 56-50 the royals the protected a 6-point lead, without trailing since the first quarter. The royals went on to win 75-69 improving their record to 15-6, as their season closes with 3 more regular season games.
