HSE Lacrosse Locks In a 2 Seed For The Post Season.
May 17, 2023
Hamilton Southeastern Lacrosse is a staple for Indiana lacrosse. 3 state championships in 4 years, trying to make history with the first back-to-back-to-back state championships in Indiana. Such a successful program must come with a great coaching staff, and HSE has one. 11 coaches on staff and thousands of hours poured into the players. Head Coach Scott Beasley said, “I believe we have the best coaching staff in the state of Indiana, and it shows with our success on the field”. Offensive Coordinator Neal Barnes says he teaches his players to be confident not just on the lacrosse field but in life, “though we strive to win state championships, growing great young men is the real goal.”
HSE Lacrosse is a team to show out when on the biggest stage. Last year the team lost to cathedral in the regular season. When meeting them again in the state championship they dominated on the field and finished on top with a score of 17-7. Former senior Garret Smith said, “that team was prepared for whatever was thrown at them, the brother hood that we had could have carried us anywhere”. Garret scored 6 goals and racked up 2 assist in his final high school game.
The royals stand at 10-8 this season going into their last game against cross town rival’s fisher’s high school. With a 11-4 loss vs. Carmel Highschool, the team locks in a 2 seed for the state tournament and will have a bye first round. The royals are confident in their ability to make it all the way and finish at the top. The hard work and dedication that has been put in throughout the year will not go un-noticed in the post-season.
