For eight years, the mock car crash has been put on for seniors, the day before prom, which was April 17 this year. It is to remind students to make wise choices. To stress the importance of being safe, students involved in Drama Club act out a mock car crash in front of their peers.
“I think we continue to do it for safety reasons,” teacher and sponsor of the Drama Club Mary Armstrong said. “By the students seeing the mock crash I think they realize the seriousness of the situation, that things can and do sadly happen. It’s during a time where students want to have a good time, but students don’t always think of all the consequences that can happen from their actions.”
