As first semester comes to an end, the Film Production Club is finally taking their year-long project off the ground and into full swing. Under the direction of seniors Nick Kinder and Bryce Reif, filming has started for the movie. It has not been an easy feat; in the four months since school began, the club has been working on writing the script, casting actors and perfecting plans for filming, editing and cinematography.
“After weeks of getting people together, making shot lists and drawing some storyboards, we are finally in the thick of it. This is the fun part [for me],” Kinder said.
Kinder is still enthusiastic about his role despite the extensive work. He has always loved watching, critiquing, making and editing movies. He also has a Youtube channel, where he creates montages and uploads short films and trailers created with his friends. Being one of the leaders involved with this movie is a big step forward for him.
“Directing with [Reif] is so nice since we see eye-to-eye on just about everything,” Kinder said. “It was so exciting when we saw all the lights and cameras set up on the first day. It dawned on us that we were actually making a movie; that’s just so awesome to think about. Whatever is in store, we’re looking forward to it.”
