DECA is a club offered here at HSE that is about business. The four parts of business the club is focused on are marketing, finance, hospitality and tourism, and business management. DECA’s mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for future careers in business. They are an organization that is based around the globe with competitions all over the world.

One reason for joining DECA is to experience new places all around the country. By joining DECA it gives you the opportunity to meet new friends that are like minded and motivated to become a better business student. Another reason to join this club is for the information you will learn, that you will be able to apply in the real world. And the last reason to join DECA is for the fun atmosphere and competitive spirit.  Arya Buddha, a DECA member, says  “my favorite part about DECA is the chance to take certain classes with the same small group of people that i network with in DECA.”

In DECA you will compete in many competitive events that are over a certain topic. You can chose from individual and team written events. There are also individual series events and management team decision making events. Lastly, there is also chapter written events and projects.

If you are interested in joining DECA simply go to the Hamilton Southeastern High School website or get in contact with a teacher sponsoring DECA at HSE. For example, a teacher sponsoring DECA at HSE is Ms. Lidstrom. Unfortunately it is too late to join the club for the 2020-2021 school year but for future school years make sure you join DECA.
